The Thingiverse, ‘a place to share digital designs that can be made into real, physical objects’. Right now there are things to print like the Sim City 2000 Tabletop Play Set, a snowflake, a Squirrelalope, a recorder and a 1:9 scale model of an Apple II+. The days of printing Christmas presents are nearly upon us. Get yourself a RepRap open source 3D printer (which also happens to be a self-replicating machine). Worth revisiting the Lego Mindstorms Auto Factory at this point.

PetWORKS is a small company that creates ‘tiny software,’ ‘little dolls‘ and ‘compact airplanes‘. The remit is broad, from dolls to the OpenSky project ‘to make the Personal Jet Glider’. The company also experimented with the AirBoard, a cross between a hovercraft and a surfboard.
